MPCC Rodeo Team helps children be “cowboys and cowgirls” for a day
Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team member Jackson Lunn, of Canada, runs around a barrel at the Nebraska Partner Up Rodeo Wednesday at the Wild West Arena in North Platte.
Partner Up is designed to introduce children with special needs to the western way of life and to allow them to be cowboys and cowgirls for a day. Among other things, the MPCC Rodeo Team demonstrated the various rodeo events, led the children on horses and showed them how to rope.
The public is invited to watch the team compete as they host the MPCC Stampede this week at the Wild West Arena. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. tomorrow and continues through Saturday night.
