Tickets are on sale now for a Kamado Joe Kettle Grill being raffled by the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to help offset travel and other team expenses.

Valued at approximately $500, the 22-inch kettle grill has unique ceramic cooking features that improve heat retention, fuel efficiency and smoking ability.

The 2-Tier Divide and Conquer® system allows food to be cooked at different temperatures. The grill also comes with the revolutionary SlōRoller™ Hyperbolic Smoke Chamber insert, which harnesses the power of cyclonic airflow technology to control heat and smoke at smoking temperatures.

Foods can be smoked at temperatures up to 500 degrees or grilled at temperatures up to 700 degrees.

An efficient ceramic firebox allows for longer cooking times using less charcoal. The grill also has an adjustable hinge so the lid can stay attached instead of having to be removed.

Folding side shelves allow for a larger prep area while in use, and when folded, the versatile side shelves allow for easy storage. The grill includes a four-legged cart with two locking casters for easy mobility.

Tickets for the Kettle Joe™ are $5 each or five for $20. They will be available at the MPCC Stampede at the Wild West Arena in North Platte through Saturday.

After that, they can be purchased at the college’s welcome centers in North Platte and McCook, through the Wranglers booster committee at (308) 535-3778 or by contacting any MPCC Rodeo Team member or coach.

Roughstock coach Aukai Kaai can be reached at kaaik@mpcc.edu. The email for timed event coach Wyatt Clark is clarkjw@mpcc.edu.

A winner will be announced at the rodeo team’s banquet in February.
