The North Platte Community College transportation division unveiled its 2026 raffle car, a 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS, on Saturday during Throttle Fest, hosted by Cornbelt Customs on NPCC’s South Campus.

About the car

The Malibu SS is the 21st raffle car restored by students in NPCC’s Automotive Technology and Auto Body Technology programs.

The vehicle features a PPG northern lights and space gray paint scheme, a custom hood, a Ford 9-inch real end, tubular front and rear suspension, a 396-cubic-inch engine equipped with a roller camshaft and valvetrain producing 375 horsepower and a 700R4 transmission.

Upcoming appearances

The Malibu SS will make its next appearance on Friday at the Buffalo Bill Kiwanis Antique Car Show and Parade at Memorial Park in North Platte.

A total of 10,000 raffle tickets will be sold at $10 each and will be available wherever the car is displayed throughout the summer. An appearance schedule will be posted on the college’s website, mpcc.edu, as dates become available.

Proceeds from the raffle help provide scholarships for students in the Automotive and Auto Body Technology programs while also helping offset the cost of building next year’s raffle car.

The drawing will be at 2 p.m. during the Colonel Cody’s Cruise Show and Shine at Memorial Park in North Platte on Sept. 12.
