Jarecke named MPCC Business Student of the Month

Rachel Jarecke has been selected as Mid-Plains Community College’s Business Student of the Month for April.

Jarecke is from Culbertson. She graduated from McCook Senior High in 2023 and is the daughter of Theron Jarecke and Lindsay Vap.

“MPCC allowed me to stay close to home and offered a very affordable price to attend college and extend my knowledge in the business world,” Jarecke said.

Jarecke will earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business upon graduation May 9.

“MPCC has taught me valuable business information that has helped me prepare for my future. The faculty has been so awesome whenever I am having troubles, and they are always willing to help,” Jarecke said.

MPCC Business Instructor Angie Chittick nominated Jarecke for the Business Student of the Month recognition.

“Rachel embodies the desired attributes of a role model student. She exhibits a positive attitude, attends class regularly and displays a desire to learn. Rachel strives to excel in all her coursework, which is demonstrated by her strong work ethic and high academic marks,” Chittick said.

Outside of school, Jarecke enjoys thrifting, antiquing, painting, drawing, interior design, fashion and spending time with her three sisters.
