NPCC students/employees recognized at Honors Convocation

The accomplishments of North Platte Community College students and employees were recognized during the 2025 Honors Convocation Monday afternoon.

Honorees included representatives from various college clubs and organizations and recipients of the following awards.

Cabinet Awards

Presidential Award – Jaelyn Dicke, of Waverly. The Presidential Award is presented to an outstanding student who has excelled in academics, leadership and service to the college and community.

Vice President of Instruction Award – EmiLee Walnofer, of Atkinson. The award is given to an outstanding student who has excelled in the classroom and demonstrated a commitment to continued academic achievement.

Vice President of Student Services Award – Caleb Allen, of McCook. The recognition is bestowed upon an outstanding student leader who has demonstrated a commitment to co-curricular achievement.

Automotive – Rayden Bihlmaier, of Gothenburg

Diesel – Kadan Wright, of North Platte and Robert Avery of North Platte

HVAC – Joel Catlett, of Holdrege

Electrical – Ethan Weems, of Stapleton and Connor Hogan of Sutherland

Business and Technology

Business – Samantha Bales, of North Platte

Health Occupations

Dental – Zara Prieto, of North Platte

Nursing – Jordyn McDowell, of Mullen 

Humanities, Human Services and Social Science

Visual and Performing Arts (Art, Music, Theater) – Susan Shepard, of North Platte

Mathematics and Science

Math – Seth DeStefano, of North Platte

Science – Zoe Maher, of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Faculty Achievement in Student Success AwardMark Harwood, autobody instructor. The award is presented to an outstanding faculty member who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to student success and student retention.

Professional Achievement in Student Support Award – Michael Summers, custodial supervisor. The award is given to an outstanding employee who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to student support and student retention.
