About Cartmill

Cartmill is a Gothenburg native. He chose MPCC because it was close to home and an affordable way to complete his generals. He is on track to complete his degree in the spring of 2026.

An advocate for people who deal with mental health issues, his mom always encouraged him to use music to help navigate life’s challenges.

“Music has always been an outlet for me,” Cartmill said. "It gave me a sense of safety and was a way to get my emotions out.”

His favorite class is Music Theory. “I love learning why we compose music and what goes into writing music,” Cartmill said.

Cartmill plans to continue his studies at the University of Nebraska at Kearney to pursue a Bachelor of Music Education. He hopes to be a choir teacher in the future.
