MPCC Rodeo Team helps children be “cowboys and cowgirls” for a day
Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team member Cinch Painter, of Springview, runs around a barrel at the Nebraska Partner Up Rodeo Wednesday at the Wild West Arena in North Platte.
Partner Up is designed to introduce children with special needs to the western way of life and to allow them to be cowboys and cowgirls for a day. Among other things, the MPCC Rodeo Team demonstrated the various rodeo events, led the children on horses and showed them how to rope.
Painter finishes third at CNFR
Cinch Painter, of Springview, led the way with a third-place finish in steer wrestling. The freshman posting a time of 5.4 in the third round to punch his ticket to the championship round on Saturday.
