Loan Program

VOLENTINE INTEREST FREE LOAN PROGRAM

In June 1984, McCook businessman, Myatt Volentine established an interest free loan program through the McCook College Foundation for full-time students enrolled at McCook Community College. This loan program continues to be available and may be used for tuition, fees, books, and/or educational materials, and room and board. The loan is not to exceed $2,000 for any one-year educational program, or a maximum of $4,000 in any two-year period, with $1,000 paid per semester. Applicants must be a full-time student at MCC or enrolled in a bachelor or graduate degree program through MCC’s Advanced Studies Center. The student must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher each semester.

All loans must be repaid in full, directly to the McCook College Foundation, within four years of the termination of any educational program. Selection is based on financial need, short and long-term educational and professional goals, academic achievement, school and/or community activity, available ACT/SAT scores, and an interview with the McCook College Foundation Student Financial Aid Committee. The application deadline for MCC students is August 1 for fall semester and December 1 for spring semester. Applications for students attending the Advanced Studies Center are accepted on an ongoing basis.
