NPCC music department to host spring concert
The North Platte Community College music department will take audiences “Around the World” with its spring concert May 5.
Songs from Canada, South Africa, Ukraine and the American frontier will be among those performed by the college’s Concert Choir, Knightingales and Jazzy Knights music ensembles.
“I am excited for this concert,” said Kristin Simpson, NPCC music instructor. “We have a wonderful selection of choral and instrumental music from around the globe. We will also be showcasing several students through solo and chamber performances. I would like to invite everyone to join us as we travel the world.”
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the McDonald-Belton Theater on the NPCC South Campus, 601 W. State Farm Rd., North Platte, NE 69101.
Simpson will direct the Concert Choir and Knightingales with accompaniment from Jennifer Winder. Winder will also direct the Jazzy Knights.

Awards will be presented at the end of the concert to the department’s musician, instrumentalist and vocalist of the year.
