MPCC Imperial Campus to offer kettlebell classes
Kettlebell classes will be available at the Mid-Plains Community College Imperial Campus starting next month. Sessions are scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. April 4, 11, 18 and 25.
Amy Sabatka, National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association certified kettlebell coach, will lead the training.
Sabatka said kettlebells can be a great workout for any age group – regardless of fitness level or experience. They help build endurance and strength, and because they combine weightlifting and cardiovascular exercises - kettlebells are a good way to work multiple muscles simultaneously.
An American Council on Exercise study revealed a 20-minute kettlebell workout is equivalent to running a six-minute mile.
Those interested in participating in the class are asked to take water bottles and wear appropriate workout clothing. Kettlebells will be provided.
The fee is $45. Registration can be done online at bceregister.mpcc.edu, by calling (308) 882-5972 or by emailing ledallb@mpcc.edu.
