MPCC Valentine Campus to offer self-defense classes

The Mid-Plains Community College Valentine Campus will offer a series of free, hands-on, self-defense classes this summer. The first one is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the campus, 715 U.S. Highway 20, in Valentine.

Instruction will be provided by the Valentine Police Department.

The training will include both demonstrations and active participation. Students will learn about pressure points and will practice targeting specific strike areas on an assailant.

Those who attend are asked to wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict movement. Pre-registration is required, and a waiver must be signed.
