The Mid-Plains Community College Associate of Applied Science in Business with an
emphasis in Business Administration prepares you for a career in business administration.
You will study the fundamentals, principles, techniques, and skills essential to making
an immediate impact in the workplace .
This interdisciplinary program combines leadership, marketing, finance, communication
and management into a unique educational experience needed in a variety of business
and industry settings related to the local, regional and global marketplace. Students
also have the opportunity to network and develop leadership skills through Professional
Business Leaders Graduates of this program and develop the skills necessary to enter
business fields such as: banking, sales and marketing, insurance, finance management,
office supervision and real estate.
Administration focuses on careers that plan, organize, administer and evaluate all or part of a business organization through the allocation and use of financial, human, and material resources. Graduates of this program complete an internship which allows them the opportunity to practice classroom concepts in a business setting while building their professional network.

The Business Administration Academic Transfer degree is designed to provide foundational
courses that prepare the student for progression to a four-year degree program. Students
in the Business Administration program will develop competencies in the areas of accounting,
management, marketing and business technologies. Career opportunities are vast and
diverse, from working in businesses and professional organizations; owning and operating
businesses; providing consulting services; managing business data; using technologies
to enhance business operations; marketing services, goods and ideas; and supervising
employees.
