Jared Daily, center, black shirt, explains a science project at Madison Middle School on Monday. Daily is a physics and engineering instructor at North Platte Community College.
He and his two sons, Packer and Micah, enlisted the help of Madison teachers and staff to demonstrate the basics of rocket propulsion to middle school students. The project included Mentos and soda water. The visit was conducted in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
Each student had the opportunity to launch a balloon rocket and was given a bag of experiments to take home. The teachers were provided with materials to aid them in teaching similar concepts in their classrooms.
