Music educators of all levels are invited to a music pedagogy and reading session May 14 at McCook Community College's Tipton Hall, room 104, from 5:15-7:15 p.m.

It is free and will be presented by Dr. Mirna Y. Cabrera, MCC Music instructor. All musicians are welcome.

This musical presentation and reading session will provide ideas on ways to take your musical group to the next level. Whether instrumental or vocal, elementary to high school, Dr. Cabrera will share teaching and directing ideas as well as repertoire appropriate for elementary, middle school and high school ensembles.

This will provide teaching strategies for improving your group's sight-reading and performance abilities through a sequential pedagogical approach to musicianship and performance.

This approach will ensure independent musicianship in each individual singer by providing the building blocks to musical success – personal score analysis, audiation, interpretation principles, ensemble unification, and informed performance practice.

In this session you will receive an outline of its contents and complimentary scores for educational purposes. The event is free, but please RSVP Dr. Mirna Y. Cabrera at 785-917-1535 or email her at cabreram@mpcc.edu
