MCC hosts 150 student council leaders

McCook Community College faculty, staff, students and community leaders helped host about 150 student council leaders from the Republican Plains Activities Conference last week on campus.

Workshops and discussions aimed at "The Art of Leading Others" were held at numerous campus locations focused on leadership strategies, strategic team planning, and boundary breaking. The day included a welcome session and four breakout sessions as well as strategic planning for each school’s Student Council events. It was capped by a representative from each school outlining, goals and plans for implementing one big idea in the upcoming year.

The RPAC leadership day is part of a continuing partnership between MCC and RPAC which also brings the conference's volleyball finals to the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center on Oct. 16 this year and Oct. 22 in 2019. The RPAC basketball conference finals will be Jan. 26, 2019.
