Jett named NPCC Business Student of the Month

Nelson Jett.jpg

Nelson Jett is North Platte Community College's Business Student of the Month for September.

The North Platte native graduated from St. Patrick High School in 2017 and is currently studying business administration with a marketing emphasis at NPCC.

Jett chose NPCC because it was close to home and his family, and because he could continue with his current profession.

"I am the youngest realtor in the state of Nebraska, ever," Jett said. "NPCC has allowed me to obtain my business degree while still allowing me to work as a full-time realtor in North Platte. The faculty at NPCC is outstanding. The teachers work with you on a very personal, one-on-one level and are always there when you need them. I would highly recommend NPCC to anyone looking to start college."

His future plans include obtaining a real estate broker's license and starting his own real estate company.

"Nelson is such a great student to have in class," said Cathy Nutt, business instructor. "He contributes valuable comments and brings his experience from the real estate arena to the classroom. It is fun to watch him absorb the class material and apply it to his business as well."

When not working or studying, Jett can be found running, golfing and swimming. He also volunteers for all Platte River Fitness Series events.

His parents are Andrew and Madonna Jett.
