MPCC Rodeo Team to offer jackpot team roping

The Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team will host a jackpot team roping Sept. 13 in North Platte. The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Wild West Arena. The public is invited to watch at no cost.

"It's a great opportunity for the community to come out and support the team," said Garrett Nokes, MPCC Rodeo Team timed event coach. "We plan to use the same cattle that will be used the next day in the college rodeo, so it's also a chance for the contestants to see what they're going to be working with."

Entry fees are $100 per team. The roping is a four header, progressive on one, and is a #10 handicap - 1.5 seconds up and 1.5 seconds down per number. Teams must be entered at least once by 7 p.m. Entries will close at team 50.

The Wranglers, the MPCC Rodeo Team booster committee, will sell concessions during the roping. All proceeds will be used for team expenses.
