College art show opens at Prairie Arts Center

Alex Cahill, a student at North Platte Community College, works on a drawing ahead of NPCC's spring art show. The show is on display at the Prairie Arts Center through April 27.

Artwork created by students at North Platte Community College went on display Tuesday at the Prairie Arts Center. 

The show features pieces from the Drawing I and II, 2-D Design, Life Drawing, Intro to 3-D Design and Painting classes. 

The work can be viewed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Admission to the arts center is free and open to the public. 

The show will wrap up April 27 with an artist reception from 6-7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the event to meet the students and enjoy refreshments.

Heather produces and distributes press releases for the college. She began work at MPCC in 2014. Prior to that, she spent five years as the news director/web manager for Eagle Radio in North Platte. From 2009-2014 she worked as a reporter/photographer for The North Platte Telegraph. Heather has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Chadron State College.
