Kayla Douglas has been selected as the Business Student of the Month for February at North Platte Community College.

Douglas graduated from North Platte High School in 2005. She is currently studying accounting and agribusiness and is on track to graduate from NPCC in the fall of 2018.

"I chose NPCC as a new starting point for my career. The college is near my home and is affordable," said Douglas. "Faculty members have been amazing in their willingness to work with me. Not only do I get homework help when I need it, but they also go above and beyond to help me prepare for my future. I greatly appreciate the efforts they have made to assist me."

Ann Reichle, an accounting instructor at NPCC, said the faculty couldn't be more proud of Douglas.

"Kayla is such a hard worker," said Reichle. "Somehow, she balances a demanding work life with a full load of classes. She is always prepared in class and ready to be engaged in the discussion. I have so enjoyed meeting and getting to know her."

Douglas' plans for the future include having a career and owning a home.

When not studying, she can be found outdoors – often hunting or fishing with her dad. She also enjoys being around animals, playing cards and board games and spending time with the rest of her family. Her parents are Wayne and Kim Douglas.
