Part-time Learning Commons/Student Success Assistant

​Part-time Learning Commons/Student Success Assistant – MCC:   MCC currently has two positions open and morning and afternoon shifts are available, typical coverage hours for the morning shift is: 8:30-1:30 pm Monday-Friday and afternoon shift runs 12:30 – 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 12:30 – 4:30 pm on Friday. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: serving as a friendly receptionist in a busy office, assisting students in a variety of ways, administering the Accuplacer Test, proctoring on-campus as well as on-line examinations, answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and other miscellaneous duties.  The ideal applicant must have excellent customer service skills and the desire to serve the student population at McCook Community College and needs demonstrated by the area residents.  This individual will also work on initiatives regarding student success and retention as part of the Learning Commons team. This position is located in McCook.

Mid-Plains Community College, a legislatively designated 18-county district in West-Central Nebraska, is a comprehensive, open access, public, two-year community college system that offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. MPCC consists of three main campuses, one located in McCook, Nebraska and two located in North Platte, Nebraska.  Additionally, there are community campus sites in Broken Bow, Imperial, Ogallala and Valentine with satellite classrooms located throughout the Area. 

Qualifications:

Associates Degree is required, Bachelor’s preferred. Knowledge in English, math and/or the sciences is desired, but not required.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule, but the typical schedule is 12:30 – 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 12:30 – 4:30 pm on Friday.  This position is for approximately 25 hours per week.
